Water Efficient Landscaping

As part of the City of Aspen’s Water Efficient Landscaping Standards initiative, which promotes efficient development and use of water within the City’s water service area, PCS Group created conceptual plans for three different residential lot types—smaller/city interior lot, smaller/city corner lot, and larger country lot—with the following conditions: backyard hot tub and landscape, front yard turf; backyard hot tub and landscape, front yard all planting; backyard all landscape, front yard turf; and backyard all landscape, front yard all planting. The conceptual landscape plans created present alternatives for what landscapes might look like based on these conditions and the water budget assigned to each lot type. This post highlights the conceptual plans for the larger country lot of each condition with a water budget of 7.5/gallons/sqft/season.
