PCS Gives May
For PCS Gives May Connor Krause chose the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), the first organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer from all angles. Their mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge, and advocating for patients. PanCAN is close to Connor’s heart as he lost his mom to pancreatic cancer in 2016 and this organization continues to shine a light for him and his family in moments that would otherwise be somber.
A little about Connor’s mother, Donna Lousie Anderson: Born in Palo Alto California in the 50’s, their family relocated to Sacramento California where her father, a WW2 Sgt. vet (navy), was involved with real estate. She first went to Utah to become a physical therapist, later moving to New England for Law school. After passing the Bar she opened her own small practice before focusing on teaching Law at the University of Connecticut after meeting Connor’s father Curt. One of her claims to fame after staying on the east coast, was doing the Appalachian trail with a group of women at a time when that was rare and was interviewed and documented along the trip. Last Summer a good friend of Connor’s while on the trail brought her back to her favorite place and spread her ashes along the trail each day. Up until her passing you could find her catching salmon in Alaska, hiking in Glacier National Park, and kayaking out west in Pt. Townsend Washington where Connor’s dad and her relocated after retirement.
