on the boards: o’brien park

O’Brien Park is an existing park located on Mainstreet near downtown Parker. PCS Group is working with the Town of Parker to reimagine the Mainstreet Plaza and edges of the park with a user-centric, cohesive design that promotes pedestrian safety. To create unity between the park and its surroundings our design team drew inspiration from the modern elements applied in the design of places just up the street, like the PACE Center and new library, in the development of these concepts. Seat walls, vertical metal elements, and planting utilized in the concepts create enclosed edges and outdoor rooms that provide comfortable gathering areas as well as funnel pedestrian movements to the interior of the park, encouraging safe access at the designated corner crossings.
