Little Raven Park

SaBell is a 25-acre new housing development in Arvada, Colorado. The community was named after SaBell’s Nursery, which previously occupied the location, and was annexed by the City of Arvada in 2018. PCS group has been providing planning and landscape architecture services for SaBell, including the neighborhood park design that features a playground, shade pavilion with tables, active recreation areas, footpaths through existing tree groves, and immediate access to the Van Bibber Creek Trail System. The park has been open since November 2022 but was recently renamed to honor the area’s indigenous heritage.

On April 17, 2023, the Arvada City Council passed a resolution to name the new park Little Raven Park following a community engagement project led by the Arvada Park Advisory Committee (APAC). The name honors Chief Little Raven, an indigenous leader who advocated for peace between local tribes and white settlers. The City of Arvada and the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes hosted a naming celebration for Little Raven Park on July 13, 2023.
