pine canyon
Pine Canyon is a 530-acre mixed-use, master planned community ideally located in the heart of Douglas County along the I-25 corridor. It has been planned to include a significant amount of connected park and open space areas with trail corridors, a mix of housing types, and a transit mobility hub. The mobility hub, located on the west side of Pine Canyon, will serve residents and businesses throughout the county as a regional transit location for CDOT’s statewide Bustang program.
The master plan was largely developed by studying national and state parks where active uses were effectively introduced into the natural land. This served as the framework for the design of Pine Canyon, basing the architectural and landscape concepts in the community on those typically found in parks, to create a built environment that is in harmony with nature and the innate form of the land. To further preserve the undulating natural terrain of Pine Canyon, more than 170 acres has been dedicated to open space and park areas, a portion of which will complete an important link of open space along the Plum Creek corridor.
